Tartous, Syria — Medusa Submarine Cable System has signed an agreement with Syria Telecom on Saturday, October 25, in Tartous (Syria), to land the Medusa submarine cable in the country. The agreement was signed by Mr. Norman Albi, CEO of Medusa, and Mr.  Jamal Al-Din Al-Khatib, Chairman of the Steering Committee  Syria Telecom, under the auspices of the Syrian Ministry of Communications and Technology, Mr Adbul-Salam Haykal, marking a major milestone in strengthening digital connectivity across the Mediterranean region.

This strategic partnership marks a significant milestone in the advancement of digital connectivity across the Mediterranean. By establishing a landing point in Tartous, Medusa reinforces its commitment to enhancing intercontinental connections between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

With its strategic location on the eastern Mediterranean coast, Tartous will serve as a low-latency gateway, facilitating faster and more secure data exchange while supporting the growing global demand for capacity driven by AI infrastructure and digital transformation.

The new landing will also strengthen the resilience, security, and scalability of Medusa’s east-to-west route, creating a vital digital corridor that contributes to regional development and long-term connectivity growth.
